MÓDULO 1
Atividade 1
Para introduzir o tema da aula, proponha aos alunos a seguinte discussão:

Atividade 2
Projete os seguintes textos que contêm características de pessoas segundo a cor da roupa que mais costumam usar/vestir.
Em um primeiro momento, os alunos deverão ler os textos silenciosamente, observando as dúvidas quanto ao vocabulário e sublinhando todos os adjetivos que neles aparecem.
Em seguida, os alunos deverão listar todos os adjetivos que aparecem nos textos e separá-los em negativos e positivos.
Para um segundo momento, os alunos deverão voltar ao texto e relacionar o tipo de roupa com a cor correspondente.
Em um último momento, os alunos deverão produzir um pequeno parágrafo, descrevendo as características de pessoas que se vestem com cores não descritas pelos textos, como, por exemplo, a cor bege, lilás, dentre muitas outras.
A) Read the following texts and underline all the adjectives:
| People who wear white want to be thought as thoughtful, open-minded and considerate. Lovers of white can also be determinate and calculating. |
| Those who dress mainly in black hope that it makes them look cool and mysterious. However, wearing black is often a sign of insecurity and may even mean that you are a little selfish. |
| Blue is a calming colour so if it´s your favourite colour you are probably calm and peaceful. It stimulates your ability to let go of past and move forward. Blue people are often hardworking and determined .Unfortunately they are also pretty mean when it comes to money and giving presents. |
| Red is a stimulating colour. It´s a good idea to wear it when your energy levels are low and avoid it if you´re feeling angry or irritated. Red stimulates passion and if you frequently choose it in the morning, you want to be seen positive and sexy. You also tend to be moody and others should beware of your fiery temper. |
| Green is the colour of new life and it stimulates the growth of new ideas. Green also awakens compassion and warm feelings towards others. Green-lovers are very competitive and outspoken when it comes to telling others that they´re wrong about something. |
| Yellow develops mental activity, co-ordination and communication. If you´re feeling tired or run-down it´s a good choice. “Yellow people” are outgoing and great fun to be with. Unfortunately they´ve also a good reputation for being a tiny bit immature. |
| Orange is an all-round stimulant. It can increase your health and vitality as well as brighten your mood. If when you open up your wardrobe orange is your main view, you are creative, friendly, happy and self-confident. The only problems are that orange lovers are quite often inconsiderate and tend to let other people down. |
B) Make a list of all adjectives in the text, dividing them into two lists: positive and negative.

C) According to the text what colour do you mainly dress up in if you …

D) Choose a colour which hasn´t been analysed yet (brown, grey, violet,…) and write a similar paragraph. To do it you can think of people who usually wear clothes with that colour and describe the way they act and their attitudes towards life.

B) Incentive-os a utilizar um dicionário online (sugerido na seção de Recursos Complementares desta aula), caso tenham dúvidas quanto ao vocabulário. Em seguida, peça para que elaborem uma frase com cada adjetivo listado. Os alunos deverão ler suas frases, observando se os adjetivos foram utilizados de forma correta, ou seja, de forma constextualizada.

C) Depois da leitura das frases, os alunos falarão de suas preferências, seguindo as estruturas indicadas abaixo:

- I enjoy being around people who are _______ because _______.
- I can't stand people who are _______ because _________.
Cada aluno deverá completar as três frases e compartilhar suas respostas com o restante do grupo.
D) A seguir, os alunos completarão as frases abaixo, escolhendo uma das alternativas:
1. I really like people who are ______________ because they always believe that things will work out in spite of difficult challenges.
A. dependent B. humble C. optimistic
2. Monica is very ______________ and always gives her time and resources to help those who are in need.

E) Para finalizar, os alunos, utilizando-se do vocabulário e expressões aprendidos, deverão pensar em três adjetivos que, em sua opinião, descrevem um chefe ideal, um colega de quarto ou um amigo ideal. Cada aluno deverá falar de seus ideais para o restante do grupo. Essa atividade poderá ser realizada em casa, como homework, e poderá ser pontuada.

Atividade 4
HOROSCOPE PERSONALITY TRAITS
A) Introduza a atividade, perguntando aos alunos o signo de cada um e se acreditam em horóscopos. Caso a resposta seja positiva, pergunte a frequência com que costumam ler horóscopos e se geralmente seguem as recomendações para o seu signo. Possibilite a participação de todos. Incentive-os, se possível, a usar a língua inglesa. Caso não seja possível, introduza expressões e palavras pertinentes ao tema da aula, escrevendo-as no quadro.
Depois da discussão, proponha a seguinte atividade para cada dupla de alunos e peça para que identifiquem todos os adjetivos destacados no horóscopo.
Aries:People falling under this sign are adventurous. They are generally self-willed and courageous. They may be seen as short-tempered individuals. They are often clever and confident. On some occasions they act impatiently. Their impulsiveness and quick temper can be their potential enemies. If they overcome these weaknesses, they can achieve success in life, owing to their confidence and clarity in thinking.
Taurus: Those belonging to this sign are romantics. Their love for style and beauty is apparent in their way of living. They are warm at heart and prefer being secure in life. As friends, they are trustworthy and helpful. But they can be possessive about everything they have. This may translate to selfishness and greed. If on guard about these negativities, a Taurus can make a good company and an excellent friend.
Gemini: People belonging to this sign are many-sided and quick-witted. They are spontaneous in communication. They come across as intelligent people. Their love towards life is evident from their living! But they tend to worry too much on certain issues and fail in managing their stress. They form opinions pretty quickly and sometimes appear to look superficially at life.
Cancer: Those falling under this zodiac sign are rather sentimental. They are of a loving and a caring nature. They are cautious in their actions. They are very protective towards their loved ones. B) Em seguida, os alunos deverão preencher a lista abaixo com os adjetivos positivos e negativos de cada signo, de acordo com o texto. Cada dupla deverá ficar responsável pela leitura da resposta de um signo. As respostas poderão ser escritas no quadro pelos próprios alunos, facilitando a visualização.

No laboratório de informática, os alunos deverão acessar o vídeo My family contido no link: http://pt.englishcentral.com/video/12844/my-family (Acesso em: 04.08.2014). O vídeo traz uma descrição de membros da família, utilizando-se de uma variedade de adjetivos que descrevem a personalidade das pessoas.
Peça para que os alunos assistam ao vídeo quantas vezes acharem necessárias, insiram as palavras que estão faltando, repitam as frases e, ainda, respondam ao teste sobre o vocabulário contido no vídeo.
Circule pela sala, ajudando os alunos em todos os momentos da atividade.
Observe a qualidade dos recursos multimídias disponíveis para o uso, os quais interferem diretamente na produção dos alunos.
Uma extensão dessa atividade poderá servir como avaliação e será descrita na seção Avaliação desta aula.

Utilizando como modelo o vídeo da Atividade 5, os alunos deverão descrever os membros de sua família, destacando suas características de personalidade. Poderão inserir imagens ou fotos em suas produções. Incentive-os a utilizar os adjetivos aprendidos na aula. As produções deverão ser compartilhadas com os demais alunos e funcionários da escola, afixando-as em local cuja visibilidade seja favorecida.
